Polokwane Skating

There are unseen secrets hiding in the shadows of this quiet little town. On any given day in Polokwane you’ll find a crew of about 20 individuals skating endlessly up and down, searching for new spots to skate. Creating something out of nothing, these guys build their own rails, ramps and pads down town and at local churches. An average street looked at through the right eyes has the potential to become a new world for skaters; of course many of these places are forbidden, but regulations and misdemeanors never deter us from living out our passion. I’ve got sweet memories of jumping fences and running away from angry fogies, seeing my friend JC trying to challenge a guard. These little acts of defiance against the establishment become as much a part of skateboarding as learning to kickflip
