When writing about this comp last year, little did I know that it would soon become a My Culture event. On the 18th and 19th of April 2009 the first annual My Culture Resurrection Jam was held at the Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort. We had five comps over two days, these included the rollerblading and BMX comp on the 18th and the skateboarding, breakdancing and graffiti comp on the 19th. We also had the following bands play on the 18th: Laminin, The Nathan Smith Project and Surreal. They were all awesome and represented some fresh S.A. talent. The overall event was a huge success with an average of 400 people coming to the jam over both days. People could spend the night and camp if they wanted to; there were swimming pools, braai areas, a bar, restaurants and lots of other things to do. Get this issue for some feedback on each comp.
