Q. Name, age, area?
A. Hi I’m Hugo Vermaak, I’m 22 and live in Pretoria.

Q. How do you view the rollerblading scene in Pretoria at the moment?
A. Ummm, it has decreased quite a lot. At a stage there were about 14 of us now there are about 5. I think it’s because a lot of the guys have lost interest and work always gets in the way but there is a new generation of up and coming skaters that I’ve seen at the park. They also seem quite committed because they don’t mind rolling by themselves even up until the early hours of the evening. Some of these guys include James, Aden, Claude and Neil to name a few and the return of Dave.

Q. So what skates are you skating with at the moment?
A. I’m skating Xsjado Stockwell’s with grey Mook frames, Robert Lievanos Eulogy wheels and Crap bearings.

Q. What’s the next skate that you would like to try?
A. I would probably stick to Xsjado’s because they skate like nothing I’ve ever skated before. They are very unique and I really like the way they skate but if I had to change I would probably go back to USD UFS Thrones but I’ll probably just stick to Xsjado’s.

A. Sweatstance to truespin alley-oop soul.
