According to organisers, this event, sponsored by ABSA Life Extreme and produced by Old School Productions, was the Mother City’s largest extreme sports lifestyle event.
Afriski is Southern Africa’s only ski resort and host to one of the biggest snowboarding competitions of the year, the Kings Cup.
This greatly anticipated event was “bigger and badder” then ever featuring more than fifty local and international tattoo artists, two massive after-parties hosted by top-class SA musicians and a couple of impressive art exhibitions that combined both fine art and tattoo culture.
Saturday 17th of July 2010, the weather was great and the wind was still - which made perfect conditions for a vert jam. This monster of a ramp was 12.5 feet high and 10 meters wide.
This year’s event really blew my mind, not even the dismal weather could deter the determined 350 people from making their way to the event.

With nothing but blue skies and warm weather for the whole weekend, this year’s Res Jam saw over a thousand people in attendance, with many making use of the awesome camping facilities at the Hartebeespoort Holiday Resort where the event was held once again. The record attendance definitely proved to be a motivating factor for all those competing; I have never seen so many Am’s charge that hard before! Also featured, for the first time, was a series of FMX demo’s, with the riders showing that they truly know how to work a crowd.
